The ribbon cutting for Liberty Place was quite the event with 160 people present.
The ceremony started with West High School JROTC doing the Presentation Of Colors followed by the National Anthem sung by Jason Hardy from Knoxville Opera. Then we flowed into a tent for the invocation done by Chaplain LT. Ben Garrison, U.S. Navy Reserve. Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon and Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs were among the notable speakers that followed.
Two apartments were open for us to view and we were well pleased with what they offered. Pictures were displayed to show the the many solar panels on the roof and the blueprint of the building. After the speakers, we were able to view the ribbon cutting which included the presence of an American Bald Eagle.
KCDC had fliers to hand out that listed Ossoli Circle under unit adoption. Ossoli Circle adopted two apartments to furnish with items for the kitchen, living room, bath and bedroom. Those present representing Ossoli Circle were; Jan Coley, Nancy Christmas, Jerilynn Price, Trisha Capps, Susie Kelley, Nancy Carmon and Cathy Briscoe.
