I Love Ossoli Tea

A Stylish Start to the Season: 2025 I Love Ossoli Tea

The Ossoli Circle Clubhouse bloomed with color, conversation, and community spirit during the 2025 I Love Ossoli Tea, a much-anticipated tradition that marked the beginning of a vibrant new season. Under the thoughtful direction of event co-chairs Robin Smith and Cathy Briscoe, the gathering brought together members and guests for an afternoon of elegance and connection.

Set against the charming backdrop of a Garden Party theme, many attendees embraced the occasion in true style, donning hats and fascinators that added a touch of flair to the festivities. Guests were greeting by adorable table favors at each place made by Kristen Basil. This annual event, held as members return from the summer break, serves as a joyful reawakening of club life and a preview of the exciting fall season ahead.

A dedicated committee of members ensured that the food table was as memorable as the setting. One of the standout highlights was the authentic English scones, lovingly prepared by an Ossoli baking team under the expert guidance of Deborah Saunders. For the first time ever, not a single scone remained—an impressive testament to their popularity!

The tea was further graced by the presence of Kendra Walker Patty, President of GFWC of Tennessee, who spent time mingling with members and sharing in the camaraderie of the afternoon. Adding to the atmosphere was the delightful piano music of Kathryn Lavender, whose talent brought warmth and charm to the event.

During the gathering, Wanda Sobieski, President of the Knoxville Suffrage Coalition and  Ossoli member, extended a special invitation to an upcoming Suffrage Reception honoring Ellie Smeal, to be held on Sunday evening, August 17 at the Ossoli Clubhouse. She also shared thrilling news about the acquisition of a building on Gay Street that will serve as the future home of a Suffrage Museum in Knoxville. The project, in partnership with Mary Kellogg, developer of the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, promises to be a significant addition to the city’s cultural landscape. Donations to support this inspiring endeavor are both needed and welcomed.

With its perfect blend of tradition, fellowship, and forward-looking energy, the 2025 I Love Ossoli Tea was a resounding success—a beautiful beginning to what promises to be a season full of purpose, programs, and continued progress.
