MISSION OF HOPE

Mission of Hope “Soup and Cracker” Community Service Project: It is hard for many to imagine the dire poverty and living conditions that still exist in many rural areas. Lack of jobs and opportunities is an ongoing serious problem in rural Appalachia. Mission of Hope extends a helping hand to those Appalachian individuals who are in need. Beginning in early January, GFWC Ossoli Circle conducted a “Soup and Cracker” drive for Mission of Hope by collecting canned soup and boxed crackers in the clubhouse auditorium. All the items donated by club members were delivered in the first part of February to Mission of Hope who then delivered them to rural Appalachia food banks. Club Members donated a total of 154 cans of soup and 42 boxes of crackers.
