Each year the Ossoli in Action committee hosts a fundraising event.  All monies raised are used to support some of the charities selected by the Ossoli Board of Directors.  Many of our organizations are supported through hands-on projects like our partnership with Liberty Place.  Others may be supported by drives to help organizations with items needed such as canned food for Second Harvest or dog food and supplies for animal shelters.  This year we offered seed money to some committees for supplies necessary to get their projects started.  This party supports the President’s Project along with other special projects selected selected by the committee that assist organizations in our community.  

This year, the Ossoli Circle auditorium was transformed into a village in Africa with authentic African recipes and typical native foods being served.  Besides the wonderful decorations and fabulous food,  a highlight of the  day was a presentation by a Zoo Knoxville intern on the chimpanzees.  Unfortunately, the Zoo would not allow him to bring his favorite chimp for fear the chimp might not want to leave our enchanting Ossoli Safari.
