Article about Ossoli’s November 2021 Shot at Life Program
Our first International Outreach program for the 2021-2022 year was “Shot at Life” and was presented on November 15, 2021, by Diane Glasgow, a Tennessee Shot at Life advocate lead and educator. Her presentation focused on supporting global childhood immunizations, GAVI, which is the vaccine alliance, eradication of measles, polio, diarrheal disease and pneumonia, educating the public about Shot at Life’s objectives, and promoting the work of its U.N. partners. Diane stressed the importance of becoming an advocate or “champion” by raising awareness, attending Champion training, watching webinars, and speaking or writing to your congressional representatives and state senators asking for additional support and funding. After her presentation, $725 was collected by our members for this worthwhile program. A corporate donor also matched all donations received for Shot at Life as part of “Giving Tuesday” on November 30.
